Back-to-School Vehicle Safety - Larry H. Miller Collision Centers
Are you or your children headed back to school in a few weeks? Here at the Larry H. Miller Collision Centers, we want to do everything we can to help promote safety - especially as young ones are headed back to school. We want to know your Back-to-School Vehicle Safety Advice! We are running a contest from 8/14/15 until 8/31/15 on Twitter and Facebook. Provide us with your best Back-to-School Vehicle Safety Advice on our social channels and the best one will win! The winner can choose between a One-Year Pre-Paid Maintenance Package to one of the following locations: Orem, Mesa, Colorado Springs, Sandy, or Murray. Or you can choose a backpack full of school supplies for you or your child! This must be picked up at the following locations: Orem, Mesa, Colorado Springs, Sandy, or Murray. There will be one winner total announced on both Facebook and Twitter. Winner will be drawn on September 1, 2015.
In case you get stuck on tips, we put together a list below!
- Make sure your child's walk to a school is a safe route with well-trained adult crossing guards at every intersection.
-Do not text or talk on your cell phone while driving.
-Be alert for school zones that have a reduced speed limit at designated times of the day.
-Watch for school buses. Red flashing lights and an extended stop arm indicate the school bus is stopping to load or unload children. State law requires you to stop.
-Always buckle up when riding in a car. Be sure to remove your backpack before getting in the vehicle. Never buckle your safety belt with your backpack on.

-Carpool to reduce the number of vehicles at the school.
-Always stop for a school patrol officer or crossing guard holding up a stop sign.
-Never pass a vehicle stopped for pedestrians.
-The area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous for children; stop far enough back to allow them space to safely enter and exit the bus.

-Children should never walk behind a bus.
-Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.
-Remember, Stop on Red, kids ahead!

Frequently Asked Questions - Larry H. Miller Collision Center Mesa
This month, we gathered a list of frequently asked questions and Mitch from Larry H. Miller Collision Center Mesa provided his responses below. If you have further questions, Mitch will be more than happy to answer any questions. Please provide a question in the comments below and we will respond as quickly as possible.
What kind of warranty will you provide me if you repair my vehicle?
All repairs completed by Larry H. Miller Collision Center Mesa come with a limited lifetime warranty. All workmanship and application of paint are guaranteed against failure for as long as you own your vehicle. Parts are subject to their manufacturer's individual warranties and can differ.
How long does the average repair take?
Unfortunately there is no such thing as an average repair. All repair times are based on the individual job, length of time to procure parts and labor hours on the estimate.
Will you be using the paint made by my manufacturer?
There is no such thing as Honda paint, Nissan paint or BMW paint as an example. When your vehicle was assembled at the factory, your vehicle manufacturer applied a paint that was sold to them in bulk by one of the large paint suppliers (i.e. PPG, BASF, Dupont, Sherman Williams, Sikkens). It was whoever was selling them the paint at the best price at that time. We utilize BASF refinish products in our facility, and this brand carries a limited lifetime warranty against any defects in the materials for as long as you own your vehicle.
Can you file the claim for me?
Because the claim handler will need specific information about the accident, we are unable to handle that portion of your insurance claim. Once you have done so, we are able to handle all aspects of the insurance company claims process from there on.
How will I be kept informed of my vehicle repair status?
We normally update our clients every Tuesday and Thursday by phone in regards to their repair status.
Will your facility report my vehicle repair to carfax?
NO. Our customer information is kept confidential and the only people who have access to your client information are body shop front office staff. Carfax gets most of its information from public record, ie. If there is a police report completed during your collision.
Do I have to take my car to where my insurance company tells me to, or can I bring my vehicle to Larry H. Miller Collision Center Mesa?
It is illegal for an insurance company to "steer" a customer to a certain shop, they can recommend a shop, but at the end of the day you as the vehicle owner have a right to have your vehicle fixed wherever you see fit. We work with all insurance companies no matter the size.
