Local groups surprise Colorado Springs veteran with new car

On Wednesday, November 9th, 2016, at the New Car Clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Veteran Taylor Harrington was surprised with a new car! Taylor Harrington served six years in the military and was one of more than 100 Veterans to receive a car from Progressive Insurance through the Keys to Progress Program. Harrington's donated vehicle was refurbished by Larry H. Miller Collision Center Colorado Springs. 

Taylor Harrington is currently taking care of his two young daughters and going to school. His car was run down and later stolen which left him with no transportation. He is currently trying to pursue a full time education through the VA Vocational Rehabilitation program. He wants to study environmental sciences with a concentration in atmospheric studies or climate change.

Evenflo recalls over 56,000 child seats for harness problem

As of Friday, February 26, 2016, Evenflo is recalling 56,000+ safety seats due to loose harnesses. This recall is for the Transitions Three-in-One Combination Boost Seat that was made from December 18, 2014 through January 26, 2016. This recall is in place due to children loosening the harness and increasing the chance of injury in an accident although no injuries have been reported.

Evenflo will recall 56,247 examples of the Transitions 3-in-1 Combination Booster Seat with model numbers 34411686, 34411695, and 34411029. These products have production dates between from December 18, 2014, and January 29, 2016.

Evenflo found out about this problem due to their analysis of customer feedback. They are aware of this and will be notifying owners and sending them a kit with a new seat pad and front adjuster. The front adjuster button is what allows the harness to loosen. If a child presses it, they can loosen the harness.

Owners can order the repair online from Evenflo or call the company at 1-800-233-5921, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
