New Years Vehicle Safety - Larry H. Miller Collision Centers

As we are ringing in 2016, we want to remind you that New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are most common for drunk drivers. We want you to stay safe this New Year's so here are a few reminders:

1. Please remember to wear your seatbelt and enforce that all passengers wear theirs as well.
2. Stay focused on driving and less on distractions.

3. Do your part in not drinking and driving. Be sure to designate a specific driver that can drive on New Year's Eve.
4. If you see something out of the ordinary, call and report it. Don't be afraid to report a drunk driver.
5. Drive slowly. With Winter approaching and the streets slick, it's important that you go slow to prepare for sliding or others. Be sure to prepare ahead of time and watch weather forecasts so you know what to expect while driving.

Keep in mind that, "During the Christmas and New Year period, the average number of fatalities involving an alcohol-impaired driver rose 34%...." This is the time of year where families are gathering and friends are going out so the streets will be busy and the risks will be higher.

We hope that you stay safe this holiday season and Happy New Year's!
